Star of Life Medal Resized

In May 2019, the Paramedic Services Chiefs of Saskatchewan (PSCS), formerly SEMSA, introduced a medal to be awarded to all Star of Life recipients (individual and team) beginning with the 2019 Provincial EMS Award Ceremony which was held in May.  Going forward, all Star of Life recipients will receive the medal instead of the glass sculpture which was awarded in the past.

The Star of Life medal is silver in color, with a full color PSCS logo with a ribbon in the same blue, green and yellow.  The back of the medal says Star of Life at the top and either “Individual” or “team” at the bottom with the caduceus symbol in the middle.  The medal is presented in a blue velvet box and accompanied by an undressed ribbon.

The Paramedic Services Chiefs of Saskatchewan are very proud of this medal, which is to be worn on the right chest, opposite the medals from the crown (i.e. Governor General Exemplary Service Medal or Saskatchewan Protective Service Medal).

We realize that past Star of Life recipients may wish to purchase this medal and we welcome your application (below) to do so.  Medals, engraved on the back with the original year of receipt as well as a control number, are available to all past recipients to purchase for a cost of $75 that includes shipping.

Please download and then complete this Star of Life Medal Fillable Application (one per medal) and send it to the PSCS office with a cheque, or you may submit your application by email and send an e-transfer to This email address is being protected from spambots.
