Westman, Karen Elaine (nee Hemmingway) passed away suddenly on Sunday July 19, 2009 at the age of 56. Karen is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rod Westman of Vermilion, AB; three children, Trent (Leslie) of Vermilion, Trevor of Vermilion, and Dana (Sheldon Gale) of Lloydminster; two precious granddaughters, Madisyn and Karsyn. She is also survived by three brothers and one sister, Bob (Bette) Hemmingway, Ron (Mary) Hemmingway, Glenn (Lorraine) Hemmingway and Lynn (Clint) Landalls; her mother-in-law, Ollie Westman; in-laws, Ross (Karen) Westman, Craig (Pat) Westman, Nick (Ruth) Westman, Brian (Caroline) Westman, Della (Mark) Stumborg, Gayle (Garth) MacDonald, Lyle (Nadine) Westman; and numerous relatives in her extended family.
The unexpected passing of Local medical icon Irene MacCuish occurred Sunday November 9 2008 at Humboldt District Hospital. Graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1953, Irene moved to LeRoy Sk. in 1963 as Matron of the local hospital. Upon its conversion to the Lerose Lodge she maintained her position there. Irene was well known as a "nurse on call" for the local residents and founder of the LeRoy Ambulance Service in 1976 using a station wagon for transport.
Dutchak, Michael Paul Passed away Saturday Oct. 11, 2008 at Royal University Hospital at the age of 87. Michael was predeceased by his wife, Ida in 1973. His parents, Paul and Rose Dutchak, his brother Walter (Stella) Dutchak, his sister Marie (Johnny) Panchuk, and his nephew Dennis Dutchak. Michael leaves to cherish his memory, Mary Billay of Saskatoon, and his children, Barry (Donna) Dutchak of Emma Lake, SK and their children; Lee Ann (Dennis) and their children Kurtis and Ashley; Brenda Dutchak; Trevor (Coralee) Dutchak and their children Nicholas and Jacob. Wayne Dutchak of Saskatoon, SK and his children; Christopher (Brandi) Dutchak; Scott (Debbie) Dutchak. Barbara (Henry) Woytiuk of Blaine Lake, Sk and their children; Kieth (Diana) Woytiuk and their children Garrett and Chloe; Kirk (Marcie) Woytiuk and their children Carson and Easton. Gail (Gary) St. Onge of Spiritwood, Sk and their children; Matthew (Rhegan) St. Onge; Luke St. Onge and his daughter Tesa-James. David (Shannon) Dutchak of Saskatoon, Sk and their children; Reilley (Fiance Jamie); Kaela; Joshua; Katie and Jordan. It is with overwhelming sadness to announce the sudden, and tragic death of an up-in-coming EMS professional Geoffrey Matthew Gilchrist.
On March 1st, 2007 at approximately 0630hrs on his way to a clinical rotation with MD Ambulance (Saskatoon), Geoffrey was involved in a single vehicle accident. He had succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at Royal University Hospital.
The death of Roy Ira Gill aged 55 years of Watrous SK occurred suddenly on Sunday June 11, 2006 at Tisdale, SK. Roy was predeceased by his father, Wilmot.
